faux fur

For the love of animal print

Mixing animal prints & faux fur can create an interesting & fun fall ensemble that invokes a statement.  However, it is important to make the right statement & do it tastefully, as it is easy to be overzealous & go over the top with this type of print & fabric.   That being said, there are a few key things to keep in mind.  Animal prints typically combine mostly black & white, sometimes with a touch of brown or beige.  Therefore, if your top contains these neutral tones but in a bold pattern, it is best to let that be your focal point.

Now, if you add a faux fur jacket that in its essence seeks to compliment the print on your top, finding a jacket in a neutral shade such as off-white, beige, light pink, or black is ideal.  Then if you pair it with jeans or a skirt in a corresponding shade, this will succeed in allowing you to establish an effortlessly modern yet classic, sophisticated look.

I searched the Nordstrom website for the best prints currently available, and came up with my top recommendations to give you that bold pattern you are looking for, with neutral tones, at varying price points.  I also linked the Anthropologie jacket shown above, and the black booties can be found in one of my previous posts “Best of Bootie”.

To break up the neutrals, you can either accessorize with a brightly hued bag, or with a pop of bold lip color as shown above.  I wore Paula Dorf lipstick in ‘Impulsive’ with a hint of Bobbi Brown ‘Baby Pink’ lip gloss overtop to smooth it over & blend it in.

The most important thing to keep in mind is to always have fun!!  And make the look your own.  Because you are amazing!  Happy Sunday loves…hope you have a fabulous week! xo
